[28 Jun 2008|11:15pm]
Spending a few days relaxing on the French Riviera isn't exactly the worst way to pass time alone, but Id love it a lot more if I had the Boy for company.

Summer of Sobriety 2008 [30 Apr 2008|01:35pm]
Getting smashed and making an ass of yourself is a bummer. Luckily Jimmy woke up the next morning and declared he's sick of being drunk and I agreed.

The rest of the summer will be spent exercising, cooking food, reading books, and watching movies/law & order. And I'm more than OK with that.

This week has been fantastic.

I really like the feeling of getting things done and checking items off the to-do list.

2007, in review [31 Dec 2007|11:32am]

1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before? Played black jack at the MGM Grand and won.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

"{{I think it was to get in shape. I think I’m more fit than this time last year, but that’s because I ate so much crap food in the dorms.}} That was last years answer and this year it is: I think it was to get in shape. It never happened. In fact, Im in the worst shape I've ever been in my life."

Those were my answers for the past two years. While I've lost a few pounds, a good 10 more and I'll be a bit over confident.. watch out. So the resolution? No more fried food. Stay organized. Keep my room clean. Save monies.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Close? Ugh... Danielle and Billie both had beautiful babies.

4. Did anyone close to you die? Thankfully, no.

5. What countries did you visit? NONE, so lame. This summer if I don't go anywhere I'm getting on a plane and going to see Ryan in London.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007? Less crushes on boys who are less than straight and boys who are self obsessed. Better hair and fashion. (GOING BLONDE THIS SUMMER, watch out)

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Hayley and J. Co's birthday week of drunk-ness and going out.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Last Call

9. What was your biggest failure? Coming off as a bitch because I need to learn to loosen up at work.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Nope, but I did play care taker to Brett.

11. What was the best thing you bought? The scooter.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Parker! Im so glad we hang out regularly again, she's the best.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Joes and the v89 girl.

14. Where did most of your money go? Booze and food. Champagne.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Getting an avail on Cat Power, almost shit myself.

16. What song will always remind you of 2007? "Plus Ones" - Okkervil River

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
1. Happier or sadder? Happier.
2. Thinner or fatter? 5lbs less.
3. Richer or poorer? Richer? But I plan on blowing some of that before heading to tallahassee, for sure.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Dating boys, going out, meeting new people.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Stressing over work.

20. How will you be spending Christmas? With my family in Cocoa Beach.

22. Did you fall in love in 2007? Out of love, rather.

23. How many one-night stands? No proper one night stands.

24. What was your favorite TV program? Curb, The Hills

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? No.

26. What was the best book you read? Invisible Monster.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Started listening to Okkervil River a lot, less of a discovery and more I just got real into the cd.

28. What did you want and get? Freedom.

30. What was your favorite film of this year? Superbad and Knocked up

31. What did you do on your birthday? Went to dinner at Masa with a few close friends.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Parker, Andrea, and Brett.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007? Fat.

34. What kept you sane? Parker

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? HAHA.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? War.

37. Who did you miss? Milan.

38. Who was the best new person you met? Jessa.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007: I don't need to be serious all the time and I should learn to loosen up (at work). I think, I expect a lot out of people because I expect a lot of myself and maybe I shouldn't.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"You can stand me up at the gates of hell but I won't back down." - Tom Petty

Accomplishing something you've been putting off for years is a fantastic feeling.

My first attempt at creating a silk screen is currently drying in my bathroom.

It's part of my "wearable" art project due Wednesday.

Peaceful people, violent guns / sober drivers, drunken cars [05 Dec 2007|12:12am]
I have a few bad habits I need to kick.
1. Texting people who don’t want texts.

The other night Parker and I went out for a few drinks and she told me that she really admired how strong I am in being single. I was really taken back. I’m glad I am though, even if it is only for her.

I love iTunes. I don’t care if you hate it, it’s so easy and so convenient. I only had one mp3 from New End Original and as I was listening to it, I decided I should just try and see if iTunes had the whole CD (last time I listened to the mp3, “lukewarm” if you were wondering.. iTunes did NOT have the cd). I could waste countless dollars buying music.

I’ll never forget the time I saw this band for the first and only time. They were opening for Hey Mercedes and totally blew my mind. I wish I had experiences like that more often.

[29 Nov 2007|12:28am]
So I've finally realized college is less about learning and more about the experience. Tonight I skipped out on writing a paper due tomorrow to sit at a wine bar with a friend and go to a show.

I think I made the right decision.

Oh, and I finished season 3 of the L word.

Cooking is my new thing. This week = homemade ranch dressing and sundried tomato pasta salad.

Water Works/Decent Pizza [19 Apr 2007|01:25am]
I do not like or enjoy either of these two establishments.

First. Water Works. The wait staff is really shitty. And I've constantly tipped well and over what I should. But I feel like I should stop because I constantly get shitty service there.

Second. Today I wanted to get a pizza to celebrate Jessica Cohen's 21st year of being alive. I went in at 5pm to talk face to face with the staff to see if I could get a white pizza made up with a 21 shaped out of some sort of topping. THey said cool. Call back at 7pm and ask to have it ready for 8pm. I did. I arrived and was told the pizza was ready but sitting in the oven waiting. Awesome, or so I thought.

When she finally brought out the pizza it was a CHEESE pizza with a 21 in spinach. Cool. OH EXCEPT I ASKED FOR A WHITE PIZZA.

No big deal right? Theyll just make another in white and let us eat the one with the 21. Because well, the effect is kind of lost, after the birthday girl sees it.

The wait girl later comes out and askes who will pay for the cheese pizza? Are you fucking kidding me? You didnt have the pizza I asked for readying when I asked for it. And now you're asking me to pay for the one you fucked up?

Way to go Decent Pizza.

I guess your name says it all. You're only decent. Nothing better than good.

[09 Dec 2006|12:38am]
So it's been awhile (again).

It's so amazingly cold here in tallahassee. Feels like 19degrees? Really? Isn't this Florida? I'm not so sure anymore.

I went to the supermarket this evening when I couldn't find anyone to dine with. What is my life coming to, really? I need to keep up with the psychologist appointments. Blah. It's like I've given up on this town. Maybe staying an extra year isn't such a fine idea.

At Publix, I bought two different expensive cheeses, a bottle of red wine, and a baguette. I wanted to buy more cheese, but Publix didn't have fresh bread. And what's the point in spending $20 on cheese sans une bonne baguette? Quand j'ecris en francais, c'est tres different. Je suis tres temide et toujour je pense que je n'ai pas raison. Mais, je sais si je n'ecris pas en francais je vais oublier tout que je sais.

Lately, when I'm speaking, I know the perfect word that fits the siuation, but then I realize I'm thinking of a french word and can't find the word in english. Odd, no?

I have to finish the pattern of a dress for draping, sew it, present it, and take a speech final and the semester is over. Weird, right?

Let's just be friends?
